Connection Locations

SDIXP operates from multiple locations to provide flexible connection options for our members. We offer both physical and virtual connection points to meet different needs and requirements.

Shanghai, China (Physical Connection - SDIXP)

Address: Lane 1693, Xizha Highway, Fengxian District, Shanghai

Description: This is the location of our self-built cloud services.

Supported Connection Types:

  • RJ45 (1G)
  • SFP+ (10G)
  • QSFP+ (40G)
  • QSFP28 (100G)
Important Notes:
  • IX does not provide transit - please do not use this as an internet gateway
  • Ensure your peering partner is present before connecting
  • No SLA guarantee at this location
KYC Policy & Access Restrictions:

Due to KYC (Know Your Customer) policy requirements, access to the Shanghai location is restricted:

  • Chinese Members Only: Only members located within China can join the Shanghai physical connection point
  • Non-Chinese Members: Members outside mainland China can connect to other locations but cannot access the Shanghai physical connection

Los Angeles, USA (Virtual Connection - SDIXP-US)

Description: This virtual location allows peering via various virtual connection methods. You will need to provide your own connection ideas and configuration.

SLA: A 96% SLA is offered for this virtual connection point.

Route Import Policy & Security:

For security reasons, the following routing policies apply to non-mainland China nodes:

  • Route Import Restrictions: Non-mainland China nodes will only import routes from KYC-verified ASN origins into the mainland China core Route Server
  • Bidirectional Policy: This policy applies regardless of whether the connecting party is located in mainland China or elsewhere
  • Security Measure: This restriction is implemented to ensure network security and compliance with regulatory requirements

Access Guidelines

Free Access

Both physical and virtual connections are offered free of charge.

Physical Access Requirements

For physical connections, you must bring your own equipment, such as network cards, switches, and optical modules.

You are also responsible for cabling your line from your point to our Meet Me Room.

Virtual Access Requirements

For virtual connections, you are required to provide your own ideas and configurations.

Important Considerations

Before planning your connection, please ensure that your intended peering partner is already present at the location to avoid unnecessary expenses.

KYC Compliance Requirements

Shanghai Location Access:

  • Only organizations located within mainland China can access the Shanghai physical connection point
  • KYC verification is required for all Shanghai connections
  • Non-mainland China organizations must use alternative connection points

Route Import Policy: For security and compliance, non-mainland China nodes will only import routes from KYC-verified ASN origins into the mainland China core Route Server, regardless of the connecting party's location.
